3. Lasker–Bloomberg Public Service Award

   Maurice Pate

   Biology

   For notable service to the world’s children and especially for skilled development of the United Nations Children’s Fund program for improving maternal and child health.

4. Lasker–DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award

   Gilbert Dalldorf

   Biology

   For his demonstration of the ability of one virus to modify the course of infection by another and for his discovery of Coxsackie virus.

   John Holmes Dingle

   For outstanding studies which have added significantly to our knowledge and ability to control acute respiratory diseases.
